So yes I am crazy about my Leopard print coat! I used to think that a leopard print was a bit well trashy or really sexy something that just didn't really suit me. But this coat in blazer fit is nothing of the sorts! It is really chic and stylish and totally on trend!
Most people I see combine the print or any print for that matter mostly with the basic colors: white, black and grey. My tip however is to wear it with a nice bright color. Choose for a bright red as I did with the scarve or choose a blue for example. The great thing of using colors is that it makes the print even more popping!
Another tip of mine try everything before you say it doesn't work! Especially with a trend like this. Something that isn't basic at all and doesn't come around every year. Fashion is being creative. So have fun and try a non basic way! A bright color will do but a print on print look could work great aswel!
Wearing it with basic; I do get the idea, a fun printed item like this is a great way to make any basic look more out there!
I see a lot of awesome leopard printed coats out there but there are other ways to add this print to your look. Accesoires like bags or shoes are very cute with a print like these!

Okay so this is a piece about me. Most of my posts are about fashion and styling but this time I will let you get to know a bit about me and about my life. Some facts serious some funny, but all totally me. Plus I'll give you an inside into my music taste by adding with every fact a song that fits.
Oké dus dit is een stuk over mij. Meeste van mijn artikelen gaan over mode en styling, maar deze keer laat ik je mij en mijn leven een beetje kennen. Sommige feiten zijn serieus, sommige grappige, maar ze zijn allemaal helemaal mij. Ik geef jullie ook een kijkje in mijn muzieksmaak door bij elk stuk een liedje die volgens mij past te plaatsen. --> het Nederlandse stuk staat onder de engelse feiten.
Fact 1: I am dissabled.
Yes, I don't really like to use the word dissabled because I see other people with a handicap who have got it way worse than me, but in the sense of the word this is how you can call my situation.
I will keep it short in this post, but am planning to extend all my weird, funny and terrifying experiences with my health in a special column serie.
A few years ago my right arm swoll up out of the blue and I could barely use it. After a lot of doctors scans and time they have diagnosed me with morphea. A skin dissease which results in a very tight skin (which I was able to treat) and in my case made sure my right wrist and elbow can not move properly, are really stiff and hurt. I am told this is not going to change, probably ever. So that is why typing and answering the sweet comments you give hurts. Also working and studying is a problem as you can imagine.
So what I am doing? I am rehabilitating and trying to find my boundaries more about this in the next post. Now on to more fun facts.

Fact 2: I am a movie addict
I watch all kind of movies; Disney, romantic, humor and ofcourse Superhero and Horror movies you know girl stuff. Haha I have two older brothers and we are big fans of horror and superhero movies. On my birthday we do the whole horror film and food bit. A few years we did a Halloween marathon at Pathé (my birthday is on 2 november so convenient and probably the reason I am a horror child). This marathon starts at 00.00 and ends at about 09.00 only for real die hards! The last year we did things differently by going to an horror event with a few horror houses you walk through. Afterwards we watched the first and second The Conjuring movies. For my more conservative friends we started with watching Coraline and eating wraps.
But back to my movie obsession. I love almost any kind of movie; except war movies(too depressing) and torture movies(too gross). I even did a movie study at my school and would love to do reviews of movies or do interviews with actors and directors.

Fact 3: (Crazy fact) I am a dishwasher expert
I am always the one to put things in and take them out of the dishwasher. And no this isn't just anyting it is an art. You have to do it in a certain way! You want as many things as possible in there and to get everything actually clean. So when people do it as I say 'wrongly,' I will correct this. I am really strict and get irritated when it is not how it should be. haha it is so unreasonable, but I am crazy when it comes to the dishwasher.

Feit 1: Ik ben gehandicapt
Ja, ik ben niet echt gek op deze benaming, aangezien anderen met een handicap het veel zwaarder hebben dan ik, maar de definitie past bij mijn situatie. Ik zal het hier kort houden, maar ben van plan in de toekomst een reeks aan columns te schrijven met mijn vreemde, grappige en verschrikkelijke ervaringen met mijn gezondheid.
Een paar jaar geleden was uit het niets mijn rechter arm opgezwollen en kon ik hem nog amper gebruiken. Na heel veel dokters, scans en tijd is de diagnose Morfea gesteld. Dit is een huidziekte die ervoor zorgt dat je huid heel stijf wordt(wat ik heb kunnen behandelen) en in mijn geval dat mijn rechter pols en ellenboog beperkt kunnen bewegen en daardoor veel pijn doen en stijf zijn. Het is mij vertelt dat dit in de toekomst waarschijnlijk niet zal veranderen. Dus dat is ook waarom typen antwoorden op al jullie lieve opmerkingen pijn doet en moeilijk is. Werken en studeren is een probleem zoals je waarschijnlijk wel kan bedenken.
Dus wat ik dan wel aan het doen ben? Ik ben aan het revalideren en proberen mijn grenzen te verkennen. Meer hierover in een volgende stuk. Nu op naar leukere feitjes.

Ik heb op school zelfs een filmstudie gevolgd en zou het super leuk vinden op recensies te schrijven of interviews te doen met acteurs en regisseurs.

Feit 3: (gek feit) Ik ben wasmachine expert
Ik ben altijd degene die dingen in en dingen uit de afwasmachine haalt. En nee dit doe je niet zomaar, dit is een kunst. Je moet het op een bepaalde manier doen! Je wilt zoveel mogelijk dingen in de afwasmachine en ook alles echt schoon krijgen. Dus wanneer mensen het in mijn ogen 'fout' doen, zal ik dit verbeteren. Ik ben erg streng en raak geïrriteerd wanneer dit fout gaat. Haha het is zo onredelijk, maar ik ben een beetje gek als het aankomt op de afwasmachine.

So all black in summer totally managable if you'd ask me! If it gets really hot it's smart to think about what kind of fabrics you wear though. Cotton, linnen, fabric with little patrons so the wind passes through that kind of items. Another thing people easily forget in summer is the shape of a top. For example this blouse had tiny holes in it, but still the fabric can get pretty hot. This is no problem here cause the blouse is losely shaped. A tight top in summer is almost a guarantee for sweat stains!
Going All black but not boring
Not all people like to wear all black anyways thinking it gets too boring or too gothic. A way to make sure an all black look stays interesting is to wear differt fabrics! In this case the lace from the shorts and little dot print from the blouse. But you've got so many different fabrics to combine: Leather, suede, wool, acryl, cotton etc. or just a print!
Another tip is black is black, but you do have see through or just plain black. If you add a see through piece every look feels just a little less dark. Or you can opt for a piece with holes in it.
The polka dot print is the happening trend at the moment plus uber cute! Especially really fitting on blouses and dresses, pants could be real fun but for a lot of people a bit too much of a good thing.
A lot of people already have problems with wearing print. Polka dot however is a pretty accessible print especially in the tiny variant. It adds just a bit of sophistication without looking like your chanelling your inner Mini Mouse. I like my prints and looks a little out there so I am opting for a medium size dot.
I do have some tricks I use to stop myself from looking like one big table cloth while wearing prints. Go for some skin. My go too move when it comes to wearing prints on blouses; make it a vneck! The flash of skin is a nice break from the print stopping it from looking like one big front.
Espadrilles
The espadrilles are a summer love of most and these with the lobsters are extremely cute! They are my first however and although they are quite comfy I am having trouble pulling them out of their boxes.
It's not that I can't combine them, but more that my leather booties are so comfortable that most of the days they are my easy fix while I already know I can walk on those for hours. I will go and try to wear them more them being so cute and all.
Oh another reason I am having trouble putting them on is; they are white. White and Ella means stains within the minute.
Hats
The hat in this picture is from a second hand shop: 2,5 euros! So I like hats and I can not lie! Are you out there looking for a hat, but don't want to go all expensive? A lot of second hand shops like the Kilo shop in Amsterdam have an selection of super cute, super original and not that expensive hats! I know what you're thinking but they clean new arrivals firercly, so don't fred!

My first outfit features a few of my fav items in the closet; denim shorts, blouses and buckleboots! Plus the popular trend; patches!
I love how the buckle boots immediatly add a bit of a tough feel to the whole look. Although a lot in my closet may look chic I am a sucker for the cowboy feels you see everywhere. Also ankle boots are my weakness. I have too many black ones and wear them even through summer..said enough?
